Review Guidelines
Strict standards for maintaining trust and authenticity on Dishi.
Dishi relies on the honesty and integrity of its community. To protect both consumers and business owners from liability, defamation, and manipulation, we strictly enforce the following guidelines for all user-generated content.
1. Requirement of Authenticity and First-Hand Experience
Your review must be a factual recount of your own personal, first-hand experience with the business. You may not write reviews on behalf of friends, family members, or employers. Hearsay, rumors, or assumptions are strictly prohibited.
2. Zero Tolerance for Defamation and Libel
We believe in free speech and honest critique, but we draw a hard legal line at defamation. You are legally responsible for the words you publish on Dishi. Do not post content that is demonstrably false, malicious, or intended solely to ruin a business's reputation. Allegations of criminal activity, severe health code violations (without proof), or personal attacks against staff members must be reported to the appropriate Kenyan authorities, not used as a weapon in a review.
3. Prohibition of Conflicts of Interest
To ensure fairness, you may not review your own business, your employer's business, or your competitors' businesses. Any reviews found to be placed by competitors or employees will be removed, and the associated accounts permanently banned.
4. Extortion and Blackmail
It is strictly prohibited to demand payment, free meals, refunds, or any other compensation from a business in exchange for a positive review, or under the threat of a negative review. Dishi cooperates fully with law enforcement regarding extortion attempts.
5. Relevancy and Scope
Reviews must focus on the consumer experience: the quality of the food, the ambiance, the customer service, and the value for money. Do not use reviews as a platform for political rants, employment disputes, or commentary on current events.
6. Visual Content Standards
Photographs attached to reviews must be unedited, accurate representations of your experience. We do not permit:
- Stock photos or images downloaded from the internet.
- Photos containing personally identifiable information of other patrons without their consent.
- Graphic, violent, or sexually explicit imagery.
7. Dishi's Right to Moderate
By using Dishi, you acknowledge that we are not a public forum, but a privately operated platform. We reserve the absolute right to remove, edit, or hide any review, rating, or photo at our sole discretion, without notice, if we believe it violates these guidelines, poses a legal risk, or degrades the quality of our platform. We are not obligated to mediate disputes between reviewers and business owners.
